Spin Pins and Emi- Jay: Love Love Love

Hey Girls!

What girl honestly does not get excited when a cute new hair acessory comes on to the market? Not many . So I am happy to say that I have tried out two new hair stylers that I am pretty impressed with at the moment. They are: Spin Pins & Emi-Jays.

Twist it up! Time for Spin Pins!

When I first saw the creative little commercials for Spin Pins buy Goodies brand I was intrigued to say the least. I could not wait for them to come to a store near my area and I auctially drove to Wallmart and Wallgreens several times looking for them but never could find a pack. Finally, I found some at Target! I was like a modern Pirate who after weeks of searching found the treasure!! Racing home to try them out I ended up impressed with the twisty little acessories. At first glance I thought that there is no way two little pins could hold up my very thick and long hair. However, I was pleasently suprised. They work very well and perfect for a messy bun. Many people have told me that they have not had the same good experience with Spin Pins, and although they worked great for me thay are not for everyone. I think people's number one misunderstanding is that if your hair is not long enough for a regular bun, it is not going to be long enough for this either...the Pins might be great but they are not miracle workers!! Keep that in mind girls. I however, still love them :)

Emi-Jay!

I first discovered Emi-Jay hair bands this month when the manager at the little Boutique-like shop I work at heard about them and ordered some for the store. I immediantly went online to check them out and see what the rave was all about.

Emi-Jay hair ties were created by two teenage California girls who wanted to make themselves unique hair acessories. They went to a local store and bought lots of bands, jewls, and other crafty things and sat down to work. Apparently after several hours of mixing and matching they settled on a very simple pony-tail holder. They liked them so much that they started selling them at their High School and they quickly became a hit! Now Emi-Jay hair accessories are sold around America and have even been seen on Celebirites such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston, Dakota Fanning, Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum, Cindy Crawford, Demi Lovato, Mariska Hargitay, Kristin Cavallari, Courteney Cox, and Miranda Cosgrove. They have also been featured in many magazines including O magazine by Oprah, Seventeen, Style Magazine, Marie Claire and Allure. And if that is not enough they were worn in Sex and the City 2, Gossip Girl, Sonny with a Chance, and The Hills! Now, all of this is very impressive but I think the most impressive part is that these two high school girls also wanted to make a difference in other people's lives, therefore a part of their income goes to multiple charities such as: Locks of Love, Toys for Tots, The Zimmerman Childrens Museum, Partners in Health/Haiti and Project Knapsack.

Our Emi-Jays recently were delivered to the store I work at and I of coarse bought a pack! They claim to not leave that horrible bump in your hair -you know the one you have after you have been wearing your hair up all day and when you take it down, you resemble a lion- but I still get the bump. So, in auctiality as far as Emi-Jays vs. a regular hair tie I would say there is not much difference. Although, they do not pull at your hair like a normal tie and look much cuter on your wrist :)

Untill Tomorrow,

"Fashion is made to become Unfashionable" Coco Chanel

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."

-Coco Chanel

I could not agree with this quote by the lovely Coco Chanel any more than I allready do. I hear people all the time making comments about how style is meaningless & people should not waste their time thinking of such ideas.I am not saying what you wear is the most important thing and should take up all of your time. What I am saying is that it does have meaning. And when I look at those same people who talk badly of fashion, I notice that in their own way they are more times than not following a trend. Wheather they are sporting this years popular color of green or perhaps a cute pair of quilted ballet flats... it all started on the runway.

If those same people would look through history books, fashion and style have always been there, always evolving and always changing into what it is today-and what it will be tomorrow. What we wear has been important for a very long time. It is how we express ourselves and how we want the world to see us.

I know this is not like my usual post, but it is something I had to say.

Untill Tomorrow,
Tori
