One Animal Print Away From A Traveling Circus

I work at Specialty Gift Shoppe, and let me just say today was interesting.

As I was putting out the newest Ivy Jane fall blazers I noticed that someone had come into the store. I decided I should go over to greet her and see if she might need any assistance. Little did I realize what was instore for me just around the corner.

There looking at a clutch was a woman wearing so much animal print she could have competed with Barnum & Bailey. She was decked out in it from head to toe. Starting with her leopard cardigan, to her snake print camisole & pleather pants then ending with a matching leopard tote-this lady meant buisness. I dont' think I could have saw more animals if I was on an African Safari.

Animal prints are not a bad thing, but this lady had obviously went over board. There are only a few ways to sport the prints in a fashion that do not make you look like "Great Aunt Lulu" (You know who I am talking about. That aunt that everyone has who is always....hmm...eccentric).

Step One: Even if the animal prints are the same color it does not mean you can wear them at the same time. Nor does it mean that the "less" crazy one can be classified as a solid.

Step Two: Use them in small doses. If the Animal Lady who came into the store that day had been wearing a basic pair of trouser pants, a black camisole and then the leopard cardigan-that would have been acceptable.

I thought everyone would know the rules of Animal Prints...but apparently I was wrong. Although, I have to give the Animal Lady credit:she has her own style statement and is happy with it.

(But this is not the 90's and she is not Brittney Spears..so maybe she will give those pleather pants a toss soon!!)

Untill tomorrow,
Tori
